[opensuse-edu] Status: www.opensuse-education.org - request for help
Hi @ll I'm currently in the process of migrating to a new server. While this alone should not be noticeable (other than: there might be a short outage at the end of May 2014), I like to take the chance and do some "cleanup". While I like to keep the download redirector behind: http://download.opensuse-education.org/ active (and search for additional mirrors, of course), the main page behind http://www.opensuse-education.org/ should IMHO see some "refresh" after 6(!) years. The question now is: what should be done here? We have (as topics on the current page: * News (primary target for the page) * Sponsor links (important to get more of them) * links to "Download", "Development" and "Software" all in German, English, France and Russian. What about a simple feed aggregator including: * https://news.opensuse.org/category/education/ * Some blogs (like on planet.opensuse.org) on the new home page? What about using: [ ]: moodle [ ]: mediawiki (as on the openSUSE wikis) [ ]: static page(s) [ ]: CMS (which one?) on the new home page? Currently I'm in favor of providing a single, static HTML page. But if there are volunteers outside who come up with new ideas and are willing to help with their implementation, I'm more than happy to setup the needed details. Hi Lars, all :) We could realize a new and fashinating website with bootstrap [0]. Bootstrap is a front-end framework and permit to realize responsive and mobile pages (the same engine used for the portal of the conference [1]). The conference uses this theme [2]; we could adapt it quickly. [0] https://github.com/twbs/bootstrap [1] https://conference.opensuse.org/ [2] https://github.com/openSUSE/conference.o.o My 2 cents. Let me know, Marina On 5 May 2014 16:17, Lars Vogdt <lrupp@suse.de> wrote:

Thanks for the hint! The new page is alive now: http://www.opensuse-education.org/ I pushed the page to github for further development: https://github.com/lrupp/www.opensuse-education.org => patches welcome :-) http://download.opensuse-education.org/ now also has some more information, but I need to merge the layout of the new page above with the one on download. As soon as this is done, I will also upload the sources to github. => Up to our glorious webdevelopers to enhance the pages now.
