Hi! Currently a renaming of KDE3 and KDE4 packages from foo to kde3-foo and kde4- foo to foo in openSUSE:Factory and other BuildService repositories is underway. I have two question about this. I am maintaining filelight (currently KDE3, I will submit the KDE4 version when it is stable) and kde4-knemo. In my opinion these shall be renamed, too, to match the naming conventions of openSUSE 11.2. Is this right? Renaming in the BuildService can be made with "osc copypac" and "osc deletepac" for the old package. As far as I can see, I cannot do this myself, because I have not the permissions needed in the project. So, if the packages should renamed and the time has come to do the rename, can someone with enough karma do the copypac and deltepac steps for me, so that I can make the remaining changes in the spec files? Or shall I remove the packages with the origninal names and submit the renamed packages again instead? Yes, IMHO.
Renaming in the BuildService can be made with "osc copypac" and "osc deletepac" for the old package. Either way, you will need assistance of someone with project permissions, so I think the first approach is OK. Just drop a note to this list that you want to rename the package. Alternatively, you might submit renamed package and ask for removing of the old package afterwards. -- Best regards / s pozdravem Petr Uzel, Packages maintainer --------------------------------------------------------------------- SUSE LINUX, s.r.o. e-mail: puzel@suse.cz Lihovarská 1060/12 tel: +420 284 028 964 190 00 Prague 9 fax: +420 284 028 951 Czech Republic http://www.suse.cz -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-contrib+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-contrib+help@opensuse.org
