[opensuse-buildservice] Fedora Substitution: The redland gang

Fedora 8 name --> opensuse name redland-devel --> libredland-devel raptor-devel --> libraptor-devel rasqal-devel --> librasqal-devel These three packages are also in Fedora 7 updates so a mapping would be nice there too. How does one add F7 updates to their build dependence's for a fedora 7 package?

How does one add F7 updates to their build dependence's for a fedora 7 package?
From looking at this http://en.opensuse.org/Build_Service/Tips_and_Tricks#Adding_multiple_reposit... And from looking at the list here https://build.opensuse.org/project/list_public It would appear that fedora updates are not tracked for 6,7 or 8 in the build system. If this is correct is there any chance of adding these for all who require updated packages to build against?

right.

Not automatic atm. We may can find a solution together with the Fedora people. But may I ask, why do you need these updates at all ? Usually, all software what is compiled against the GA versions should work with later updates. Is this not true in some cases on Fedora ? bye adrian -- Adrian Schroeter SUSE LINUX Products GmbH, GF: Markus Rex, HRB 16746 (AG Nürnberg) email: adrian@suse.de --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-buildservice+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-buildservice+help@opensuse.org

The problem for F7 is that they introduced redland-devel and friends in the update repository and they were not existing at all in the initial F7 release. Putting them into a subproject on obs seems to work ok though I've not tried to pull the main package from my repository to see if it will use the F7Updates redland instead of the one from the subproject... should work.

Mappings applied. -- Adrian Schroeter SUSE LINUX Products GmbH, GF: Markus Rex, HRB 16746 (AG Nürnberg) email: adrian@suse.de --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-buildservice+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-buildservice+help@opensuse.org
