[opensuse-buildservice] Howto submitting an older revision to the build?
I want to modify a previous revision and then submit this modified revision to the build. How can I do this? I think I should add a changes entry to r23 of home:keichwa:branches:openSUSE:Factory/opensuse-manuals_en and then submit it to 11.2 resp. 11.2:Update. -- Karl Eichwalder R&D / Documentation SUSE LINUX Products GmbH, GF: Markus Rex, HRB 16746 (AG Nuernberg) -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-buildservice+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-buildservice+help@opensuse.org

you would need to branch home:keichwa:branches:openSUSE:Factory/opensuse-manuals_en -- openSUSE - SUSE Linux is my linux openSUSE is good for you www.opensuse.org -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-buildservice+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-buildservice+help@opensuse.org

Ok, makes sense. I think I must branch it against the wanted revision. osc branch knows about the -r flag, but calling osc branch -r23 home:keichwa:branches:openSUSE:Factory opensuse-manuals_en results in Server returned an error: HTTP Error 400: Bad Request Unable parse filelist from backend osc --version 0.120 -- Karl Eichwalder R&D / Documentation SUSE LINUX Products GmbH, GF: Markus Rex, HRB 16746 (AG Nuernberg) -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-buildservice+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-buildservice+help@opensuse.org

I now manually copied r23 to the head of my home branch and send an sr to openSUSE:11.2: created request id 24782 I hope that's fine. -- Karl Eichwalder R&D / Documentation SUSE LINUX Products GmbH, GF: Markus Rex, HRB 16746 (AG Nuernberg) -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-buildservice+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-buildservice+help@opensuse.org

hm, nicht mehr ganz aktuell, aber sollte eigentlich gehen. kannst du es mal mit "osc -d branch ..." aufrufen und mir den output schicken ?

erm, usually you branch from openSUSE:11.2 package and submit it back. The current api also detects automatically if it exists already in :Update and takes this one in case. Btw. opensuse-manuals_en of factory has no official devel project yet. I would suggest you found one for this and other docu pieces and we set the devel project than in factory. I fear the wanted revision is missing from openSUSE:10.2

The devel project setting somehow got lost while renaming from opensuse-manual_en to opensuse-manuals_en ;-( The suitable devel project is Documentation. I'll play a little bit with osc cr. Stay tuned. -- Karl Eichwalder R&D / Documentation SUSE LINUX Products GmbH, GF: Markus Rex, HRB 16746 (AG Nuernberg) -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-buildservice+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-buildservice+help@opensuse.org

I am un-tuned, I am always like this. Just run osc cr openSUSE:Factory opensuse-manuals_en Documentation to request the devel package change. -- Adrian Schroeter SUSE Linux Products GmbH email: adrian@suse.de -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-buildservice+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-buildservice+help@opensuse.org

I do not understand this command: osc cr --help changedevelrequest (changedevelreq, cr): Handle requests to another project [See http://en.opensuse.org/Build_Service/Collaboration for information on this topic.] See the "request" command for showing and modifing existing requests. osc changedevelrequest PROJECT PACKAGE DEVEL_PROJECT [DEVEL_PACKAGE] Trying: osc cr openSUSE:Factory opensuse-manuals_en Documentation Server returned an error: HTTP Error 404: Not Found Unknown source package opensuse-manuals_en in project Documentation The referenced wiki page (http://en.opensuse.org/Build_Service/Collaboration) does not provide enough details. -- Karl Eichwalder R&D / Documentation SUSE LINUX Products GmbH, GF: Markus Rex, HRB 16746 (AG Nuernberg) -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-buildservice+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-buildservice+help@opensuse.org

yes, and this is a correct error, no ? You need to create the devel package first: osc linkpac openSUSE:Factory opensuse-manuals_en Documentation -- Adrian Schroeter SUSE Linux Products GmbH email: adrian@suse.de -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-buildservice+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-buildservice+help@opensuse.org

osc usabiltiy issue. Knowledge in the head needed, where the system has sufficient info to give guideance. 404 is unhelpful. well, it makes pretty much sense. What is the point to define a devel package which does not exist ? How did you got the package into the distro, if there is no place where you develop it ? Usually you create the package first in your project and submit it afterwards. This is taken as devel package by default. You should not remove it. bye adrian -- Adrian Schroeter SUSE Linux Products GmbH email: adrian@suse.de -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-buildservice+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-buildservice+help@opensuse.org
