[opensuse-buildservice] setting up an OBS
Hi everyone, I've really enjoyed using the official obs server, and now I have a need to set one up locally on my own network. Can someone point me to the instructions for doing this? I presume there's a wiki page somewhere that gives a brief overview of which packages you need and such. Thanks, John --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-buildservice+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-buildservice+help@opensuse.org

Yes there's a wikipage for setting up the obs: http://en.opensuse.org/Build_Service/Build_Service_Installation_Tutorial/ope... Also have a look at the /usr/share/doc/packages/obs-api/README.SETUP file after installing the obs-api package. Marcus,
Is there anything I have to watch out for when following these
instructions against a SLE 10.1 box?

Okay, after messing around for a while, I can see that the OBS was not
intended to run on anything much earlier than opensuse 10.2. I'm
running SLE_10/SP1. I can find many of the components I need, but some
critical ones are missing - like createrepo, lighttpd (standard
package name - not a snapshot), etc.
If no one has any comments, I'll have to find a 10.2/3 machine I can
use -- preferably with a 64-bit CPU, right?

I cannot recommend to use a 10.3 system, because the kernel is very useless (slow like hell) in case of IO related operations. I'm now using SLES10 and everything runs quite well. You need the following repos in addition: http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/openSUSE:/Tools/SLE_10/ http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/server:/http/SLE_10/ http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/devel:/languages:/lua/SLE_10/ -- With best regards, Carsten Hoeger
Hi Carsten, you should not forget http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/ruby/SLE_10 because 'ruby-devel' and '/usr/bin/ruby' is needed. Kind Regards Chris Carsten Hoeger schrieb:

There is a collection of these missing programs in openSUSE:Tools:Unstable: - repoview, createrepo, etc. (with also a SLE 10 version) When the new OBS 1.0 will be released, it will be part of the the normal openSUSE:Tools. To build, the SLE 10 Version sits on top of the projects "server:http" and "ruby", containing all the other needed pkgs. Hi Choeger,
Christian
you should not forget http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/ruby/SLE_10
Was the lua repo was mentioned? That's also needed for sle10 http://en.opensuse.org/Build_Service/Build_Service_Installation_Tutorial/SLE...
