[opensuse-buildservice] [ANN] your dreams come true^W^W^W^Wnew osc release
Hi, only three weeks after the last release, there is a new osc release with major new feature you have been longing for. The main attraction is the ability to locally build linked packages. * added support for handling linked packages in expanded form. They can be checked out, updated (expanding or unexpanding them), and, finally, built locally. Note that this is not due to miraculous osc magic, but due to the power of the backend. So beer and pizza should to go to mls :-) Newly introduced osc options for this are: osc checkout: --expand-link osc update: --expand-link and --unexpand-link Hint: try "osc up -e" in a checkout of a linked package. Then "osc up -u". Then "osc up -e" again. * as indicated in the last release, a new command submitreq. There is a draft explaining its usage here: http://en.opensuse.org/Build_Service/Collaboration (right now nobody is going to notice if you do submit requests. So don't count on them yet.) * copypac does a (quicker) server-side copy now by default, when source and target are on the same buildservice instance. * build can be called with --debuginfo now (thanks, Juergen!) * addremove (and other commands) now ignore all dot files, since the buildservice doesn't handle them. Peter PS. Since the BS is still exceptionally busy, the packages are NOT built yet. -- "WARNING: This bug is visible to non-employees. Please be respectful!" (right now nobody is going to notice if you do submit requests. So don't count on them yet.) Hmgrmbl - why do I always and everywhere read "We need notifications!" ?

Because it's true since the 1st day of the Buildservice? I don't understand that question. That has a real ceremonial touch!

Just looked at it. Very nice. (Although the layout seems to have broken in a verbatim box, though) Peter -- "WARNING: This bug is visible to non-employees. Please be respectful!" SUSE LINUX Products GmbH Research & Development
