Is it possible to run maven in online mode in OBS? If maven runs in online mode it should automatically download the necessary poms from central repo. Is that possible through OBS else if any other settings required?

It sounds promising but not possible. adrian once said download online when building is not possible because it's an expendable virtual environment without network.

This is exactly what is NOT wanted in distribution packaging: non-reproducible builds depending on things which neither are included in the package itself nor in its defined dependencies.
