Thanks for the hint Christian, I think I found the line that needs changing
I remarked out the old line added in the new , triggered rebuild , see how
it goes.
%define httpd_dir %{_sysconfdir}/apache2/conf.d/
# %define httpd_dir %{_sysconfdir}/httpd/conf.d/

This looks like a config file for apache.
Apache uses /etc/apache2/ as config directory since ages (probably since the update to apache 2.x).
Move your apache config file to /etc/apache2/conf.d/
