[opensuse-buildservice] OBS will switch authentification system tomorrow!

Tomorrow, 12th May 05:00 UTC we will switch OBS (build.opensuse.org and api.opensuse.org) to the new (SUSE hosted) authentification system. Please find details how to set your new password and about the current state here: https://idp-portal-info.suse.com/ For the brave ones only ======================= You can already set your future password and use OBS via the test frontends. It is still the same instance behind and the same content. [opensuse-buildservice] proxy error from updater applet

Hi, every time I log in on my laptop I get this error from the updater applet: "Download (curl) error for 'http://eregion.kicks-ass.net/eregion/13.1/ repodata/repomd.xml': Error code: Connection failed Error message: Could not resolve proxy: HTTP_PROXY" But: use of a proxy is turned OFF both in yast2 and in my user's settings. Also: if I log out now, and log back in, it'll be fine until the next reboot. Any ideas? [opensuse-buildservice] Building with gcc8 on Tumbleweed

Greetings. I have a C++ project that I want to build for openSUSE Tumbleweed. I get build errors when using the default GCC 9 and the developers advise me to try using GCC 8 instead. What's the right way of configuring the project to do this? I tried updating my project's metadata as follows: <repository name="openSUSE_Tumbleweed"> [...] <path project="devel:gcc" repository="openSUSE_Factory"/> [...] </repository> And then in my spec file I replaced BuildRequires: gcc-c++ with BuildRequires: gcc8-c++ But this doesn't seem to work. When I do a build, I see that both GCC 8 and GCC 9 get installed. But the build then fails with the following message: checking for the target C++ compiler... not found DEBUG: _cxx: Trying /usr/bin/g++ ERROR: Cannot find the target C++ compiler Generally speaking, is there something else I should be doing to force OBS builds to use GCC 8 instead of whatever Tumbleweed's current version is? [opensuse-buildservice] Install package in distro chroot?

Hi all, I'm setting up an internal OBS instance that builds packages for Ubuntu 16.04, and I'm wondering: is there a way to pre-emptively install a package in the chroot before installing the package's build dependencies? I would like to unconditionally install the pkg-create- dbgsym package when building for Ubuntu 16.04.
