[opensuse-buildservice] Support: in prjconf creates dependency loop

Hi, the documentation at http://en.opensuse.org/openSUSE:Build_Service_prjconf says, that a package in the Keep: set is installed every time (even when building that very package). I assumed that this means, that packages in the Support: but not in the Keep: set are only used when building other packages. However, it does not work this way: https://build.opensuse.org/project/monitor?project=home%3Amichal-m%3Akernel… There is an 'ignore-kabi' package in the project, and the prjconf contains Support: ignore-kabi The result is that the ignore-kabi package depends on itself and won't build. Is this a bug or feature? If it's a feature, what is the point of the Keep: keyword? [opensuse-buildservice] "have choice for" in Arch

I was trying to add Arch support for a package of mine which needs erlang that is community-maintained in Arch so I needed to add this as well. However, there are some "have choice for" errors: have choice for libgl needed by wxgtk: libgl nvidia-utils, have choice for libgl needed by mesa: libgl nvidia-utils, have choice for java-environment: jdk7-openjdk openjdk6 I'd go for libgl in the first cases and jdk7 in the second. How do I add these to my project configuration (what is the correct way to check for arch?) - anyway, these should probably resolved in the Arch:Extra repo to fix them for everyone... additionally, I have "nothing provides glu" but according to https://www.archlinux.org/packages/extra/x86_64/glu/ this should be in the extra repo which I thought Arch:Extra mirrors... [opensuse-buildservice] Private OBS Questions

Hi all, I have a project at my job to start implementing OBS as a replacement for our few disparate build systems and servers. While in general I'm very pleased with the system, there are a few things which I need some help with. I am running a 4 server setup for OBS - one main box, 3 workers. I am using the appliance images. * LDAP Auth Where is the correct place to configure this? I saw some things about it, and attempted to edit a production.rb file for the API, but it seems every so often this was regenerated by something. Try as I might, I could not get it to work, and could not find a way to turn up logging. This is pretty important. * Reliance on opensuse.org How can I make my base distributions not dependent on build.opensuse.org? Under normal circumstances this all works fine, but it would make me feel better having everything in-house. An extension of this would be - what if I want to build against Ubuntu 12.10 beta? Related to this would be - supporting Debian variants - like debian-amd64-kfreebsd. * Putting OBS into version control (git) I think I saw something which puts the specs and such into git from OBS? Anyone have that link? I can't find it again. * Documentation There's a lot of documentation, it's just hard to find some things because of the sheer amount. I'm very familiar with this as it's similar on our internal wiki. I've basically used the appliance files, some kickstart stuff, and a little bit of puppet to get everything going. If someone can provide hints to the items above, I'd be glad to submit back some detailed docs. I'm quite excited as to what this will help my company get done, but need some things addressed before going full-steam-ahead. Hi, Just to avoid suprise build failures for you: I did some changes to the project config that will affect many builds, but at least no package in factory should fail due to this as I prepared this in several staging projects and also submitted fixes early: 1. We switched from libpng14 to libpng15 default, Petr submitted patches to many packages already and we think we're ready for it. 2. I'm getting spurious and intermittent build errors like the subject says all over the place. Triggering a rebuild usually fixes it, which makes me thing it's a dead build host. In this last case, it's build21. Btw, in case your user agent doesn't show it, the subject line says: getbinaries: missing packages: libzio PS: If you did need to read the above line, please switch user agents ;-) PS2: Back when I seem to recall "osc buildhist" showed the build host used - why isn't it showing it now? is there a way to check which build host built some failed build in the past? [opensuse-buildservice] Can we enable "ExportFilter: \.i686\.rpm$ i586" prjconf in Kernel-stable repo?

Hi, due to this: http://forums.opensuse.org/english/get-technical-help-here/tumbleweed/47452… we can't built against Kernel:stable, I mean if you add <repository> <path project="Kernel:stable" repository="standard"/> </repository> to your project meta, then it'll complain about: "nothing provides kernel-devel = 3.6.1-2 needed by kernel-syms" Kernel:stable is sometimes useful, eg: I can test newest btrfs to make sure if some bugs are already fixed upstream so after I update my kernel, I need to build NVIDIA locally against the newest kernel. (I prefer RPM) if you don't want to install so many kernel-*-devels, the only solution is to build locally inside your obs home. without that filter, then I have to branch K:s to a new subproject, which is actually unnecessary if we enable it here.
