[opensuse-buildservice] Ho to debug without x86_64?

Hi, I do not have a x86_64 system to build locally and following two packages don't build: http://build.opensuse.org/package/live_build_log?package=GMT&arch=x86_64&re… and http://build.opensuse.org/package/live_build_log?package=GMT&arch=x86_64&re… Both fail with: gcc -fPIC -L/usr/lib/netcdf-3 -I/usr/include/netcdf-3 -O3 -s -I/usr/local/netcdf/include -DGMT_SHARE_PATH=\"/opt/gmt/share\" blockmean.o -L. -lgmt -L/usr/local/netcdf/lib -lnetcdf -lm -s -Wl,-rpath,/opt/gmt/lib64:/usr/local/netcdf/lib -o blockmean /usr/bin/ld: cannot find -lnetcdf collect2: ld returned 1 exit status The netcdf package is installed and the same build works for i586 and also for x86_64 for suse and Fedora 7. What can I do to find the reason? [opensuse-buildservice] new osc commands: wipebinaries and abortbuild

Thanks to Marcus Huewe, who implemented these, there is now a wipebinaries and an abortbuild command. He also improved the metadata editing in case of invalid data which is not accepted by the server. There is now a possibility to edit the data again. Hey guys, any plans for a SLED10SP1 build target? This is an issue with the ordering code: build uses rpm to calculate the right package install order. It does this by calling 'rpm --test -Uvv <rpms>'. Unfortunatelly rpm has a bug (fixed in SUSE for some years) that disables the ordering when --test is used. So that's why it doesn't work on Ubuntu: rpm is broken there. I think the correct fix is to re-implement the ordering (like it is already done for debian builds). [opensuse-buildservice] BuildRequires and Requires handling in OBS (was: [opensuse-packaging] automatic backporting of Factory packages)

Hi all! A week ago there was a discussion on packaging ml about "backporting of Factory packages" initiated by Stanislav Brabec. He wrote that he has script to handle BuildRequires and Requires replacements in spec files. (That means, automatic adding of %if %suse_version when needed). We learned that BuildService already does this but only for BuildRequires. Stanislav Brabec wrote: > It would be nice to adapt Requires, too. It's not so complicated and the > fixing rule is exactly the same as BuildRequires need, so it should be > trivial. What about Requires? Any news on this issue? It would be really great if BuildService took care of both BuildRequires and Requires changes. More and more -devel packages are being created in Factory and -devel packages tend to require another -devel packages, which complicates building against older repositories. [opensuse-buildservice] Problems with "expansion error: nothing provides"

This is making me absolutely crazy and I apologize if I'm missing something obvious, I am new to SUSE's build tool... In the process of building RPMs for OpenSER 1.2.1 on openSUSE 10.2 x86_64.... I have modified the spec file with all of the required bits for my make. Copied all of the RPMS to a local folder (/usr/sources)... One of the bits is not part of the standard openSUSE RPMs package on the DVD - unixODBC-devel - so I found a SUSE compatible x86_64 RPM and put it into the x86_64 folder under /suse/x86_64 in my local sources folder. Well for the life of me I can't make build recognize that the stupid RPM is there! I did -clean and made sure that it wasn't a caching issue. I installed the unixODBC-devel onto the local system using YaST just to make sure that YaST could see it, and read it, and it worked fine! Is there some magic I'm missing to teach build how to pick up other RPMS that aren't part of the standard DVD package? [opensuse-buildservice] Is local build supported on ubuntu (libzio.so not found) ?

Hi, I've tried to use osc build command on an ubuntu (feisty) machine, but it fails at some point because it cannot load libzio.so. My understanding is that it is not found in the chroot jail, but the package is downloaded during the package list updating.
