Hi, I tried to set the URL for my project and after committing the entry I am getting the error message: OpenSUSE Webclient Error: Error Details: Errorcode: unknown Message: XML validation failed Details: validation failed, output: /tmp/opensuse_frontend_validator.20342.0:10: element build: Schemas validity error : Element 'build': This element is not expected. Hi, As many of you noticed, the service is quite slow atm. This is caused by a nearly full filesystem mostly. We will do a final sync and a move tomorrow, so the service will go offline at Friday, 12th Octobre, 12:00 UTC We expect a downtime of 2-4 hours (the final sync need to run, before we can enable the service again). [opensuse-buildservice] Suggestion: less sub-repositories

I think it would be more user friendly to have less sub-repositories. Take for example the games repository, it would more user friendly if you only have to add a games repository. Now you have to add repo's for each game genre (arcade, action etc). I really think this process is to cumbersome. What do you think? Is the possible? Hi, I broke the validation for pattern files a while. If you noticed that an uploaded pattern did not result in a .ymp file, you are affected, because the backend You have an invalid pattern file in that case, api.o.o should have never accepted this file and does report now an error, if you try to upload it again. Hi, when trying to add repository, *all* repositories are offered - i.e. including those which I have already added. * New backend server seems to run stable, setup will start on thursday. We have no date yet for moving the service to the new system yet. * Project deletion in the backend is implemented and running * api does support project deletion as well, but needs to get deployed to support it. * mod_zrkadlo (the code behind download.o.o redirector) can redirect now to a certain mirror, if the client comes from a concrete IP. Also wildcard support has been added to use a certain mirror for a concrete country * Release Handling Requirements We spoke about how to provide the OBS code in future to allow all kind of users to run stable instances of an own build service. We figured out the following so far: - We need stable packages - Move extra files from packages to svn (AI: adrian) - multiple tar balls and spec files for each part * api * web clients * backend * worker * signing daemon package only for distros with patched gpg * signing client package ? - A release must be possible at any time - A release must be done on each milestone from the roadmap - We guarantee forward compatibility, either by supporting old data or converting data automatically - We make binary packages only from svn tags. - Releases should be pre-announced to allow developers to bring their code into shape. I'm seeing: ffmpeg (project home:enzokiel) mythtv (project home:zCougar) What are the policies about this? (If this software is allowed... maybe the packman packages should also be added?) Wade

I have a quick question about the debuginfo packages the buildservice automatically creates. Is it possible to tune the cflags and buildflags used for that debug package? I've got some compile-time flags I need to pass to the configure script for more verbosity, but I don't want them enabled unless the user installs the debug package too. I didn't see anything about debug settings in the documentation I have, which is why I ask. Hello, when I press the button to prevent publishing in a package I get the message: ERROR publish can only be enabled/disabled in the project When the idea of the whole is, that certain packages required for building are not published, then this message is very strange. It would mean I can only decide it for a whole project and not for the individual packages. Hi, I'm building SUSE, Fedora and Mandriva packages for Zero Install (http://0install.net) in my home project at the moment: http://build.opensuse.org/package/show?package=zeroinstall- injector&project=home%3Atalex5 Should I move this somewhere else now that it is working? It could be a top-level project, or it could go in a new 'installation:' group or something. Also, a second question (I'm fairly new to the BS): I found that the built packages often didn't install because I got the dependencies wrong. Getting feedback from users about this took a long time, so I created a 'test' package which does nothing except depend on the real package (to make sure that the real package installs and --version works): http://build.opensuse.org/package/show?package=zeroinstall-injector- test&project=home%3Atalex5 Is this the right approach? Is there an easier way? If automatic testing is encouraged, there is a whole unit-test suite in the Zero Install tarball that could be run, but I don't want to use too many resources on the build service. Hi list, I'd like to build the some binary kernel modules (home:rzg0hank/openafs), which works ok for SLES10 and openSuse10.2 With SLES9 I have the problem that SLES9 doesn't know about the rpm-macro %suse_kernel_module_package. This is a bit odd, since on my local SLES9 (SP3) installation this macro is known. Any suggestions what to do ? Hi, just added a new repository (opensuse 10.3) to my project and i can see the package built for it ("Build Status" table) but to left , were you're supposed to enable/disable the build and publication of the packages ("Package Flags" table) i can only see the old repositories. In other words, all but OS10.3 (the newly added) are present... Hi all. I posted this on IRC (via pastebin.com) but there wasn't anyone there that could see what the issue was here. I am guessing there's a dependency missing, but it really puzzles me that it complains about the boost library which *is* installed... Here follows my tale of woe: I have built gizmod 3.3 on my openSUSE beta2 without issue but on the buildservice in the automated xen-environment, it cannot find the boost library, even though it gets installed during startup. I have tried with just '--with-boost' (worked on my machine) and '--with-boost=/usr' (hoping it would help, but alas...) I am at a loss as to why this is a problem. I could understand if there was a dependency I hadn't mentioned in the .spec file, but that doesn't seem to be the case... Hi buildservice addicts, As an exercise to learn a certain programming language, I wrote a plugin for osc that provides an ftp-like interface to the buildservice api. It's main purpose is playing with the api rather than anything meaningful, but you might find it useful or more eficient for some tasks than the builtin osc commands.
