[Bug 333727] New: Knights, chess frontend crashes due to unresolved dependency
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=333727 Summary: Knights, chess frontend crashes due to unresolved dependency Product: openSUSE 10.3 Version: Final Platform: Other OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: KDE AssignedTo: kde-maintainers@suse.de ReportedBy: mlj@chase.eclipse.co.uk QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: Customer The package is dependent upon JACK an audio front end being present. Will crash after about 10 moves as apparently trying to play a .wav file. Solved by installing entire JACK repository contents, The Jack audio connection kit by itself is insufficient. I have insufficient knowledge to resolve the full undeclared dependencies but suspect the ASLA plugins for Jack is the most likely problem as I understand plugins are a common cause of unresolved dependencies. Terminal run revealed this error message Vanilla as per 10.3 final m@linux-10-3-386:~> knights sh: jackd: command not found QImage::smoothScale: Image is a null image QImage::smoothScale: Image is a null image QImage::smoothScale: Image is a null image QFile::open: No file name specified QFile::open: No file name specified QFile::open: No file name specified QFile::open: No file name specified QFile::open: No file name specified QFile::open: No file name specified QFile::open: No file name specified QFile::open: No file name specified QMetaObject::findSignal:io_engine: Conflict with io_base::sendCMD(const Command&) and in due course a crash with hint audio stack overflow from Stack trace. Do you already have the fixed version from http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/KDE:/Backports/openSUSE_10.3/i586/... installed otherwise you will be hit by bug #331755. If that does not help for you I would try installing the debuginfo package to get a better backtrace. http://download.opensuse.org/distribution/10.3/repo/debug/suse/i586/knights-...
