The dasd modules are not loaded, and the root filesystem not available. So plain mkinitrd -> dracut porting will probably not happen here. How RHEL 6 (and maybe 7) works: - the kernel boot and ALL devices are ignored - to activate disks the repective devices need to be switched on.
