After a reboot openSUSE get up to the login-screen, but the login itself failed every time, with a phase around two seconds of black-screen and a return to the login-menue. It works as a constant loop. It was only possible to start openSUSE correctly in filesave-mode from grup and filesave KDE-plasmoid session from the login-menue(down left corner). A improvement would be great. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Make a package switch to http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/KDE:/Release:/46/openSUSE_11.4/ 2.Shutdown 3.Restart Expected Results: A correct login with a working KDE4.6.1 session. A newstarts brings me up with the desktop-kernle to the login-screen, and the login happends normal. -> Well, the clock in the right corner is gone away-> why ever?!?!?. So the conclusion is that some needed packages for a normal system boot and login with KIDE4.6.1 are in the http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/KDE:/Qt47/openSUSE_11.4/ repro. I don't know what you mean by "filesave-mode from grup and filesave KDE-plasmoid session from the login-menue." Have you tried choosing "KDE Plasma Workspace" from the session type menu in KDM? And there is also a option at the login screen (down left corner) to start KDE by itself in filesave(may be plasma workspace). That is what I can saw at my monitor. And there is the need to add the QT47 repro, because only adding the kde repro prevent my system from starting up normal. A later addition of the QT47 repro bring my system to a state that it start normalagain. There were no other changes! Session in "safe mode"? What repos do you have? AFAIK, the Qt47 repository is not needed. I have updated the KDE Reloaded Live CD (KDE 4.6.1 from KDE:Release:46) and it works fine (without the Qt47 repo). The only issue it has is that the default session type doesn't work, so you have to choose "KDE Plasma Workspace" in KDM. The same problem happens there. I have to choose the KDE Plasma Workspace session on the login screen to get logged in. When I switch to the root account the KDE Plasma Workspace is not choosen,which is a problem because when I use the switch user option in the KDE launcher(kickstart I guess) it is not possible to choose the type of the session, so I have to log out to the login screen choose the root account , choose the Plasma Workspace and login as root.
