[Bug 309195] New: xgl prevents applications from using fullscreen
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=309195 Summary: xgl prevents applications from using fullscreen Product: openSUSE 10.2 Version: Final Platform: i586 OS/Version: openSUSE 10.2 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Xgl AssignedTo: dreveman@novell.com ReportedBy: mantel@novell.com QAContact: bperry@novell.com CC: sndirsch@novell.com Found By: --- After activating xgl (in order to enjoy wobbling windows) I realized that applications can no longer use full screen. You see the application in the middle of the screen with a huge black border. Can easily be tested by trying to run frozen bubbles or breakout on a system with xgl active. Can be reproduced on two different systems with two different nvidia graphics cards. Other people also observed this problem, so it seems not to be hardware dependant. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

When I open a window to "full screen" it really only takes up the entire width of my display but only about 3/4 the height. If I go away from "full screen", I can expand the window to fill the screen by dragging the window width and height. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

If the playfield does not cover the whole screen, the problem still exists :) -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

This problem still exists. Appearently the cause is the missing XFree86-VidModeExtension extension in Xgl - as we discussed before. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

I don't expect this to be fixed still for openSUSE 11.0. Switch to AIGLX instead. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
