[Bug 461013] New: no tablet functionality on Thinkpad x61 tablet

https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=461013 Summary: no tablet functionality on Thinkpad x61 tablet Product: openSUSE 11.1 Version: Final Platform: i586 OS/Version: openSUSE 11.1 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: X.Org AssignedTo: sndirsch@novell.com ReportedBy: jimmac@novell.com QAContact: xorg-maintainer-bugs@forge.provo.novell.com CC: glesage@novell.com Found By: --- Can't get the tablet work on the Thinkpad x61. While there were issues on openSUSE 11.0 as well, using the upstream 0.8.0 version of the wacom driver worked fine. Attaching the xorg.conf I was using for 11.0 that worked. I tried setting up the table with sax2, tried usptream driver 0.8.2, 0.8.0 (which worked in 11.0), to no success. The x11 log says there's problem accessing the /dev/ttyS0 device: Wacom xf86WcmWrite ISDV4_STOP error : Input/output error -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

Now Wacom shows up in xorg.conf. I changed to ttyS4 as suggested but no results. As far as I know it work so with these tablets: HP 2710p tablet Toshiba M200 tablet Lenovo x61 tablet Lenovo x60 tablet Also see this comment https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=323541#c69 So, shouldn't sax2 serial port be set to /dev/ttyS4 by default for all serial tablets? If it is not possible, or various serial tablets use random ports, maybe, some hint conсerning trying to set another /dev/ttyS* in sax2 for openSUSE 11.1 should be placed here? http://en.opensuse.org/TabletPCs If the latter idea will be approved, I can try to add appropriate section in that page myself. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

If it should, then I'll file appropriate bug report for SaX2. So far I did not encounter any serial tablet under openSUSE 11.1, which actually worked on /dev/ttyS0 port.
