After login, try to run "set_default_volume -f". This will reset volumes. If this doesn't help, run /usr/share/doc/packages/alsa/alsa-info.sh (as root) with --no-upload option and attach the output to bugzilla. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

I compare what exists in versions 10.2 and 10.3 of openSuSE : in version 10.2, directory /usr/share/doc/packages/alsa contains : /alsa-lib /alsa-utils README.SuSE README.testwav No file named alsa-info.sh in version 10.3, directory /alsa-utils is missing !!! other files are the same (same name, same size) I try to remove all alsa packages then reinstall them. Always the same result : no sound !!! I notice that all components of alsa-utils are missing in /usr/bin : aconnect, alsamixer, amidi, amixer, aplay, aplaymidi, arecord, arecordmidi, aseqdump, aseqnet Last trial, I remove alsa-utils only in Yast, next reinstall. Now, required component exist in /usr/bin, but always no sound. It seems something is going wrong with package alsa-utils-1.0.14-27 x86_64 -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

Get it from the URL below, instead: http://hg.alsa-project.org/alsa/raw-file/tip/alsa-info.sh Since 10.3, alsa-utils, etc are split from the single alsa.rpm. That's the reason that you don't get alsa-utils stuff. Usually, YaST update cares, but something odd happened on yours, apparently. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
