For all ldap users only the primary group is returned. There is already (a quite old) bug report at redhat: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=683158 According to this the problem is fixed in sssd 1.5.1-15.el6.0.1.x86_64 (redhat).
