Probably that could help since it doesn't seem to be a general issue. I did the following directly after XDM session login: :~> thunderbird & [1] 3607 :~> ps -A|grep thunderbird 3607 pts/0 00:00:00 thunderbird 3609 pts/0 00:00:04 thunderbird-bin :~> strace -o tb.log -p3609 tb.log is the attachment. The app freezes every time, some minutes and some actions after the first start up.
