IIRC, it at least reaches udev start before the reboot happens. It all happens so fast I'm not sure whether device mapper startup is reached. I see on the gwdg.de mirror in repositories/Kernel:/HEAD/openSUSE_Factory/i586 a kernel-pae rpm package that is only 9993178 bytes, far smaller than the 24331K of the broken installed kernel. Should I try the 23934K kernel-vanilla that is now in that location? Or, wait for a newer kernel-pae?
