I see no disadvantages in splitting this, apart from the initial work required for splitting. For kernel-coverage you better use a source link to openSUSE:Factory and change that - now you overwrote other's changes.

I'm a noob in packaging, I don't understand what you said. Your «that» refers to openSUSE:Factory or to my repository?
