https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=455882 Summary: libtool CPU utilization Product: openSUSE 11.1 Version: RC 1 Platform: Other OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Major Priority: P5 - None Component: Development AssignedTo: pth@novell.com ReportedBy: psankar@novell.com QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- With 11.1, whenever I attempt a build, my system becomes useless. libtool constantly uses CPU at > 90% rate. I tried building some Gnome modules. With 11.0, I could build and simultaneously run valgrind of another app. With 11.1 I cannot even switch workspaces, when build is going on. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

That's not a self-contained testcase.
Explain me what is a self-contained test case. Give one example of how one should be for libtool. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

That seems to be a duplicate of this one. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

Untill I have proof that this really hinders development I'm going to lower the priority. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

I am sorry I cannot provide more information in this. But it should be fairly straightforward to reproduce this in any 11.1 machine. If you prefer to close it as NOSRESPONSE.
