https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=466769 Summary: No shut down, but runlevel 0 most times reached Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.1 Version: RC 2 Platform: i386 OS/Version: openSUSE 11.1 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Basesystem AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: suse-linux@ml082.pinguin.uni.cc QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- Created an attachment (id=265614) --> (https://bugzilla.novell.com/attachment.cgi?id=265614) dmesg output and hwinfo (--short at the end) User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; de; rv:1.9.0.5) Gecko/2008121300 SUSE/3.0.5-2.5 Firefox/3.0.5 I have 2 old Pentium II (Deschutes), 450 MHz, Intel 440BX/ZX/DX which worked fine with Suse 10.3, with 11.1a halt-command doesn't shut down the machine (I hear the fan running), but runlevel 0 or a little bit before is reached most times. I have no idea which info could help you. Maybe it is a kernel / acpi problem. So i give you this info from dmesg and append the whole output and hwinfo. grep -i acpi dmesg BIOS-e820: 000000000fffd8c0 - 000000000fffff00 (ACPI data) ACPI: RSDP 000FDFE0, 0014 (r0 IBM ) ACPI: RSDT 0FFFFE80, 0028 (r1 IBM CDTPWSNV 1010 IBM 0) ACPI: FACP 0FFFFE00, 0074 (r1 IBM CDTPWSNV 1010 IBM 0) ACPI: DSDT 0FFFD8C0, 24CC (r1 IBM CDTPWSNV 1000 MSFT 1000007) ACPI: FACS 0FFFFDC0, 0040 ACPI: PM-Timer IO Port: 0xfd08 ACPI: Core revision 20080609 ACPI: Checking initramfs for custom DSDT tbxface-0596 [00] tb_load_namespace : ACPI Tables successfully acquired ACPI: setting ELCR to 0200 (from 0e00) evxfevnt-0091 [00] enable : Transition to ACPI mode successful ACPI: bus type pci registered ACPI: EC: Look up EC in DSDT ACPI: Interpreter enabled ACPI: (supports S0 S1 S4 S5) ACPI: Using PIC for interrupt routing ACPI: PCI Root Bridge [PCI0] (0000:00) pci 0000:00:02.3: quirk: region fd00-fd3f claimed by PIIX4 ACPI ACPI: PCI Interrupt Routing Table [\_SB_.PCI0._PRT] ACPI: PCI Interrupt Link [PIN1] (IRQs 3 4 5 6 7 9 *10 11 12 14 15) ACPI: PCI Interrupt Link [PIN2] (IRQs 3 4 5 6 7 *9 10 11 12 14 15) ACPI: PCI Interrupt Link [PIN3] (IRQs 3 4 5 6 7 9 10 11 12 14 15) *0, disabled.
