Summary: upgrade pidgin for xmpp stuff Product: openSUSE 11.0 Version: Final Platform: x86 OS/Version: Linux Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: X11 Applications AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: jengelh@gmx.de QAContact: sndirsch@novell.com Found By: Beta-Customer
pidgin/libpurple 2.4.1 from openSUSE 11.0 fails to authenticate against the openfire3 xmpp server and GoogleTalk (also XMPP); however, the pidgin 2.4.1 from /repositories/GNOME:/Community/openSUSE_10.3 worked with it, as does the 2.4.2 from Gnome:/Community/openSUSE_11.0 now. Please fix the opensuse pidgin.

--- Comment #1 from Wolfgang Rosenauer wolfgang@rosenauer.org 2008-07-04 03:36:48 MDT --- Is there another bugreport about the ICQ issue? If not, that should be fixed along this one?

--- Comment #2 from Jan Engelhardt jengelh@gmx.de 2008-07-06 07:29:52 MDT --- I don't care much about ICQ but yes, the update to GNOME:/Community's pidgin/libpurple 2.4.3 also fixes icq.

--- Comment #6 from Jan Engelhardt jengelh@medozas.de 2008-12-25 19:23:26 MST --- The 2.5.1 in openSUSE 11.1 breaks GoogleTalk. Just use the 2.5.3 from /repositories/GNOME:/Community/ , hm?
