--- Comment #1 from Takashi Iwai tiwai@suse.com --- Could you give the hardware details? Such a problem is very much hardware-specific.
At least, please give hwinfo output (attach to Bugzilla). Also, run alsa-info.sh with --no-upload option, and attach the output, too.
Also note that it's often difficult to eliminate such a click when you perform the power-saving mode.

Alsa-info.sh gives no valuable information.
What do you mean? Run "alsa-info.sh --no-upload", and you'll get the output file in /tmp/alsa-info.*.

With version Leap 42.3 this sound behavior did not occur.
OK, that's a good information.
Could you try to install openSUSE Leap 42.3 kernel you've used onto Leap 15.0 system and retest with that kernel? You can install the old kernel-default.rpm via "zypper in --oldpackage kernel-default.rpm", for example.
If the problem doesn't happen with Leap 42.3 kernel but only with Leap 15.0 kernel, we can try to narrow down further.

--- Comment #12 from Thomas Moringer armin.mohring@gmx.de --- With kernel 4.4.128-46 this behavior does not occur. I have tested this with www.surfmusik.de

--- Comment #13 from Takashi Iwai tiwai@suse.com --- Thanks, that's getting more interesting.
Could you try to take alsa-info.sh output snapshot while you're playing something? Take the snapshot on both Leap 42.3 kernel and Leap 15.0 kernel, and attach the outputs to Bugzilla so that we can compare in more details.

--- Comment #18 from Takashi Iwai tiwai@suse.com --- Thanks. The diff between them shows that 4.4 kernel leaves power_save=0, i.e. it doesn't enable the power saving as default.
Try to create /etc/modprobe.d/60-hda-powersave.conf containing the following:
options snd-hda-intel power_save=0
Then the issue will be likely gone with Leap 15.0 kernel, too.
