unbound has been updated to 1.16.2 in the meantime [1] and there are no requests pending currently, so this would be a good time to apply the agreed-upon changes. However unbound does not have a bugowner or maintainer in IBS at the moment, which less than ideal for such a moderately important package. We'll have to sort this out first.
