Thanks for picking up on this one!
Sorry for the late reply, I was out of office for a while.

Yes I confirm the ID is 17ef:609b.

I am not sure I can test your test kernel - I need this machine operating
stable next month. However, I have applied the same patch to 4.4.162-78-default
throughout 4.4.175-89-default, and it works.
