I am testing this now on KDE and it seems to works just peachy, at least it
shows the desktop and i can move mouse and launch firefox.

Does it still happen for you on the latest Factory, there were some changes in
Xorg code so this might really be fixed by them. (Feel free to reopen it if it
is still borked for you).
