If it works, we can enable it. The condition probably dates back to when only x86 and aarch64 were supported, and I never bothered to check whether additional backends became available. Also it's not the primary debugger on openSUSE, so having it on "niche" architectures was a bit less compelling. One reason not to enable it would be the added build time, but let's see if that's an issue.
