It outputs in one case 'b'apache2'', but not for all packages: $ cnf a2enmod Program 'a2enmod' is present in package 'b'apache2'', which is installed on your system. Absolute path to 'a2enmod' is '/usr/sbin/a2enmod', so running it may require superuser privileges (eg. root). $ cnf cnf Program 'cnf' is present in package 'command-not-found', which is installed on your system. Absolute path to 'cnf' is '/usr/bin/cnf'. Please check your $PATH variable to see whether it contains the mentioned path.
