The message might be a red herring, and we can't rely on it.  That said, we
need more data for further analysis.

Since this seems to be a kernel regression: could you check whether it happens
with 4.4, 4.5 and 4.6 kernels?  You can try the kernel in OBS
Kernel:openSUSE-42.2 repo for 4.4.x, and OBS home:tiwai:kernel:4.5 and
home:tiwai:kernel:4.6 repos for 4.5.x and 4.6.x kernels.
