Should I open separate bug > for that? Well, I'd answer that a new package should provide such links, not 'gcc'. Or we can use alternatives for crosses ... (I'd be open to that). In any case I won't be working on it but won't oppose either a new package for symlinking and maybe providing useful Requires (avr-newlib...), like cross-avr. Or doing alternatives (I guess I prefer the new package a bit more).
