Hi @Matwey, this patch is not committed upstream and I just found that they have just committed one that works better, here it is: https://git.samba.org/?p=rsync.git;a=commitdiff;h=c2da3809f714d936dec1cab6d5bf8b724b9cd113 I tested the reproducer from the bug description [0] and it works fine.
