Can confirm this is also an issue on openSUSE Leap 42.2.

Prior to any preference changes I get the same "on_playback_volume_changed:
couldn't get volume, output plugin not loaded" warning.

But even after setting ALSA in lxmusic preferences and restarting lxmusic, I
still can't play any audio.

"aplay -vv somefile.wav" plays the file correctly.
