Comment # 1 on bug 1200216 from Takashi Iwai

It's an issue of the downstream driver, per se.  OTOH, the upstream commit
40af35fdf79c won't break kABI and yet it helps development, so there is no
strong reason not to include it.

So I backported the patch and pushed to my SLE15-SP3/for-next branch.  If
everything goes OK, it'll be included in the next update kernel (in June).
