Now that you mention it it's odd that rpm uses
/tmp/tmp.XghjhaLQT2/var/lib/rpmold.29272 instead of .../usr/sysimage/.... I
guess this it the problem we're seeing here, the renames seem to fail.

I know that the libzypp folks cahnged their code so that it follows the
/var/lib/rpm symlink when calculation the --dbpath argument. I'll CC Michael
Andres here, maybe he knows what's going on.

About zypper not failing, this may be a problem in rpm not returning with an
error code. I'll investigate.
