On a fresh 13.2b1 live KDE installation (after running 'zypper inr'). The following openjdk packages are installed: cb400f@linux:~> rpm -qa *openjdk* java-1_7_0-openjdk-headless-1.7.0.65-4.4.1.i586 java-1_7_0-openjdk-1.7.0.65-4.4.1.i586 java-1_8_0-openjdk-plugin-1.5-4.1.3.i586 java-1_7_0-openjdk-plugin-1.5-4.1.3.i586 java-1_8_0-openjdk-headless-1.8.0.20-2.2.2.i586 java-1_8_0-openjdk-1.8.0.20-2.2.2.i586 cb400f@linux:~> I assume it's not intended to have both openjdk 1.7 and 1.8 co-installed by default. However I tested the web plugin in Firefox, and it works, and the latest version (1.8) is used. But I guess having both installed is a waste of space, and might cause unneeded security concerns and potentially other problems - and just general confusion.
