You may still find the old kernel in TW history repo,
  http://download.opensuse.org/history/

Also I have a collection of old kernels in my repos, e.g.
  http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/home:/tiwai:/kernel:/5.1/standard/

Because you still have a kernel-default package on your system even after
removing an old one. The multi-version packages are managed in a different way
and the number of installed packages is specified in /etc/zypp/zypp.conf. Edit
the multiversion.kernels line in that file to allow more instances.

In anyway, if the problem persists and 5.1.x is confirmed to work as is, please
boot with drm.debug=0x0e option on both working and non-working kernels, and
upload the dmesg outputs to Bugzilla, too.
