## Problem The recent update to nvidia-compute-G06 to 550.120-21.1 causes low FPS and high CPU load. `glxinfo | grep OpenGL` returns MESA; that is probably the reason for the low performance. With the previous version, nvidia was used. System is not usable anymore, applications are consistently crashing (e.g., Firefox). ## System Info Operating System: openSUSE Tumbleweed 20240930 KDE Plasma Version: 6.1.5 KDE Frameworks Version: 6.6.0 Qt Version: 6.7.2 Kernel Version: 6.11.0-1-default (64-bit) Graphics Platform: Wayland Processors: 16 × AMD Ryzen 7 3700X 8-Core Processor Memory: 62.7 GiB of RAM Graphics Processor: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 SUPER/PCIe/SSE2 Manufacturer: Micro-Star International Co., Ltd. Product Name: MS-7B89 System Version: 1.0 External Monitor (100HZ) connected via Displayport. ## Mitigation Rolling back or downgrading nvidia-compute-G06 to 550.107.02.06 resolves the issue. It's probably an Nvidia issue. First of all, this bug report is just for informational purposes. I will forward it to Nvidia, too.
