Even today's wpa_supplicant patch (2.5-74.1) didn't solve the problem. My laptop could see and activate the wireless connections via via YaST using ifup. So it seems to be a problem with NetworkManager which is still at 0.9.8.8-13.1 whereas it is at 0.9.10 for openSuSE 13.2 (with an option for 1.0.6) and at 1.06 for Leap 42.1.
