I don't know that this is actually a duplicate of bug 1159563.

I could say that bug 1159563 provides a work-around in that it would allow one
to set MODULEPATH oneself, to include /usr/share/modules, but it doesn't
actually address the request in this ticket.

Given that, I have removed the duplicate resolution so that addressing the
request in this ticket more directly -- i.e. adding /usr/share/modules to
MODULEPATH in lua-lmod can be achieved.
