Having said that, I am not sure if the YaST upgrade workflow is supposed to
handle those community repos as well. They typically follow the same
conventions with regards to the distro version in the repo URLs; but I am not
sure how reliable or how robust that is.

Personally, I tend to be very conservative with that, disabling or even
removing those non-SUSE repos before upgrading and adding them after the
upgrade and installing the software again that I want from those repos (NVidia,
VLC). I am not sure if that is the official way to do that or just me being a
bit paranoid.
