I suggest to put the severity to critical. I'm affected as well.

Work-around to get some apps working:

- login with icevm
- start xterm

- using xterm, you can start 'plasmashell'

Apps based on KF5 or Qt5 like Dolphin, Okular, etc. are not working.

Other apps, like Firefox, Kile (still KDE4), Kontact are working.
