Is it with the latest kernel-firmware package?

There have been a few fixes wrt iwlwifi and some was even to fix for the
breakage due to the recent kernel-firmware update (which brought to a bad
kernel panic).

In anyway, if you can confirm the problem with the latest kernel-firmware
package, too, and the old kernel still works, please give the dmesg outputs on
both working and non-working kernels.  Also, upload the output of hwinfo, too.
