IMHO, if upstream does not provide such a functionality, we don't *need* to do
it ourselves.

I guess that's the favored approach.

Are you willing to (or: do you have time to) provide maintenance for the
package (in Factory)? If not, anyone interested can still use your package from
the home repository.
