Hi Christoph,

finally...

the blender-310 build in home:frispete:blender is readily prepared to render
with OptiX. Granted, the package builds properly (we will hopefully know in a
few hours), I will soon submit it to graphics and Factory.

BUT

You need a proper cuda installation (I'm using 11-6 here), and make sure to
install the cuda-compiler as well. Refer to
/usr/share/doc/packages/blender/SUSE-NVIDIA-GPU-rendering.txt, but it still
contains some outdated information.

Then refer to /usr/share/doc/packages/blender/SUSE-NVIDIA-OptiX-rendering.txt,
that I adjusted already for NVIDIA-OptiX-SDK-7.4.0-linux64-x86_64.

For some reason, it doesn't work OOTB sometimes. Start blender from a console
window, enable OptiX (that should be present in the settings), render something
with OptiX, which will trigger some output on the terminal from the attempt to
compile the OptiX renderer on the first access.

I would much appreciate, if you would carefully check your steps with my docs,
and even more appreciate some corrections.

I'm really sorry for this simmering so long, but we're almost there now...

Cheers,
Pete
