following the messages on "[opensuse-factory] Lost DNS after updating to snapshot 20160921" DNS is broken for both gnome and kde after last update. as mentioned /etc/resolve.conf is empty. (copying over the contents of /etc/resolve.conf.netconfig to /etc/resolve.conf provides a temporary solution). Messages suggest the problem is specific to network-manager.
