(In reply to David Rankin from comment #0) > exporting KDE_SESSION_VERSION=3 restores proper help ability from within the > applications. I'm not sure where KDE_SESSION_VERSION is supposed to be > exported, but it isn't happening. This effects 15.0 and 15.1. That's obviously something that would need to be done by the KDE3 startup scripts (e.g. startkde, that's where it is set in 4.0 and later). In the end it's rather a bug in susehelp's check though, as KDE3 never had KDE_SESSION_VERSION=3 in the first place, that got introduced with KDE4. But susehelp is long dead, it has been dropped from the distribution over a year ago (before the release of Leap 15.0). And KDE3 is gone from the distribution even longer. It's up to the KDE3 maintainers (or somebody else who cares about KDE3) to fix "their" susehelp or the KDE3 startup scripts. Although, it probably might be a better idea to just remove the patches to use susehelp from the KDE3 packages and go back to the upstream way of using khelpcenter directly, as we did for the *official* KDE packages back when susehelp was dropped. Apparently there is not even a KDE3 component here in bugzilla anymore though, so I have to close this as INVALID.
