# rpm -V udev .M....... g /usr/lib/udev/compat-symlink-generation The file is packaged as empty and with 000 permissions: # rpm -qlv udev | grep compat-symlink-generation ---------- 1 root root 0 Apr 20 02:59 /usr/lib/udev/compat-symlink-generation However, the actual file contains "COMPAT_SYMLINK_GENERATION=2" and has 644 permissions: # ls -l /usr/lib/udev/compat-symlink-generation -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 28 4. Okt 2018 /usr/lib/udev/compat-symlink-generation I'd expect that 'rpm -V' doesn't report anything in /usr. Note: This affects at least Leap 15.3 and Tumbleweed.
